Sometimes, this job requires you to work inside refrigerators and freezing environments.

  1. Package Preparation: The main responsibility of distribution center workers is to pack, stow, and stage everyday use items of a household for the same-day delivery.
  2. Inventory Management: Receiving and putting away household and grocery items in the inventory room and making sure that you have items in the inventory.
  3. Quality Control: They have to make sure that all packages delivered to Amazon customers are intact, and labeled accurately when loaded onto the trucks.
  4. Safety Protocol: Make sure that all safety protocols are followed and all equipment are used safely.
  5. Teamwork: Teamwork is the backbone of any workplace. You will be working closely with other Amazon employees, managers, and supervisors with one goal of productivity and smooth workflow.
  6. Shifts and Flexibility: Working at an Amazon delivery station sometimes requires you to work various shifts, including nights and weekends.

Duties and Key Responsibilities as Distribution Center Associate

  • Operating powered industrial trucks (PIT) that may reach heights up to 45 feet.
    • You will receive proper training and certification for handling such trucks and other equipment. (Training is free of cost.)
  • Receiving, sorting, and putting away grocery and household items in the inventory.
  • To lift and move boxes as needed.
  • View prompts on screens & follow directions from some tasks
  • Making sure that all freezer items are properly put inside the frozen sections of the warehouse.
    • This sometimes requires you to work in temperatures as low as – 10F.
  • Work with computers, smartphones, and other technology, etc
